Three content websites built with AI that run on their own: a French fuel price comparison site with over 1,100 pages, built in 3 to 4 days, and two recipe websites where my only job is to approve.

The problem

A content website only works if it is big and up to date: hundreds of pages, data that changes every day, texts to write and proofread. Done by hand, that is a part-time job. Before offering it to my clients, I wanted to test on my own projects how far AI and automation can carry a website, from building it to running it day to day, without me having to step in.

What I did

  • Prix-essence.com, a French fuel price comparison site: a custom-built Symfony site, designed and developed with AI in 3 to 4 days
  • Prices fetched automatically every 30 minutes from the French government’s open data, brands and averages recalculated every night, price history going back to 2007
  • One page per station, per town and per département, generated from the data, with no hand-written text
  • Email alert if an update fails: I don’t need to keep an eye on the site
  • Recettes-du-chef.com and plat-equilibre.com: an AI recipe generator connected to a back office, with an automated approval workflow; I proofread and approve, the AI writes
  • A “written with the help of AI” notice shown on the sites: readers know how the content is produced
  • Search engine and AI engine visibility from day one: structured data, sitemap, llms.txt file

Results

  • Prix-essence.com: over 1,100 pages online, built in 3 to 4 days, and no intervention at all since it went live on 14 October 2026: I use it like any other visitor
  • In 3 weeks (14 October to 5 November 2026): 337 visitors, 21,000 impressions and 139 clicks from Google, 50 of them on the single search “essence” (French for petrol)
  • 17% of visits come from AI assistants such as ChatGPT
  • Recipe websites: 175 recipes published by AI as of 6 November 2026 (124 on plat-equilibre.com, 51 on recettes-du-chef.com), 85 of them reviewed one by one; not a single hand-written text, and about $0.45 of API cost per recipe, i.e. $1 to $2 per month per site
  • The same approach is available for your projects: AI and automation, or an AI website editor to update your site in plain language
