Why hire a freelance PrestaShop expert

I work on PrestaShop from version 1.6 to 9: migrations, custom modules and maintenance, with no intermediary. PrestaShop is a powerful platform, but a demanding one: every version has its own compatible modules, and every update can break a theme or a payment method. Either way: the latest PrestaShop version installed and secured, 50 products imported, card and bank transfer payments, two carriers, legal pages, basic SEO and 2 hours of training. No development starts before you approve the design in writing.

A more ambitious store (large catalogue, B2B sales, connection to your ERP or accounting software) is quoted after a scoping phase.

PrestaShop upgrade and migration

Is your store still running PrestaShop 1.6 or 1.7? I move it to version 8 or 9, always on a copy before the switch, from €890 excl. VAT. Full details on the PrestaShop upgrade and migration page.

Custom PrestaShop modules

When no existing module meets your need, or only partly, I develop a custom module: connection to your ERP or accounting software, synchronisation with a CRM, specific pricing or shipping rules, order automation. Each module is quoted at a fixed price after a written scoping.

A slow PrestaShop store?

Google expects the main content to display in under 2.5 seconds on mobile; beyond that, the store drops in the search results and loses sales. The causes are often the same: too many active modules, oversized images, a badly configured cache, an undersized hosting plan. An express audit at €290 excl. VAT tells you exactly what to fix, and what it costs.

PrestaShop maintenance (Store plan, €179 excl. VAT per month) covers updates tested on a copy, backups, checkout monitoring and 2 hours of work per month.

Can you take over an existing PrestaShop store?

Yes. I start with an express audit to review the version, the modules and the theme, then I suggest maintenance or an upgrade.

Why is my PrestaShop store slow?

Most often because of too many modules, oversized images, a badly configured cache or an undersized hosting plan. An audit finds the exact cause.

PrestaShop or Shopify: which one should I choose?

PrestaShop makes you the owner of your store, with no commission on sales, and can be customised without limits. Shopify is easier to get started with, but relies on a subscription and paid apps. I help you choose according to your catalogue and budget.

Do I need to move from PrestaShop 1.7 to 8 or 9?

Yes: PrestaShop 1.7 does not run beyond PHP 7.4, which has not received security fixes since the end of 2022. The upgrade starts at €890 excl. VAT and is done on a copy of the store.

Will my customers have to create their account again after a migration?

No. Customer accounts, order history and passwords are kept: your customers log in as before.
