Custom website and management tool for a careers guidance and employment centre: more than 1,300 events published and 6,700 registrations managed online since 2021.
The problem
The Cité des métiers du Val-de-Marne welcomes, free of charge in Choisy-le-Roi, anyone who wants to find a direction, train, find a job or start a business. Its WordPress site could no longer do what the team wanted: publish a weekly schedule of workshops and meetings, manage registrations with limited places, follow up participants and work with hundreds of partners. It needed a tool halfway between a website and a CRM.
What I did
- Complete design and development of the site in Symfony in 2020, with a custom back office
- Event schedule sorted into four themes (discover careers, find a direction, look for a job, start a business), in person or by video
- Online registration by time slot, with a number of places and a deadline
- Confirmation email, then an automatic reminder before each slot
- Events proposed directly by partners through a form, then approved by the team
- Directory of partners and sponsors, news, and a contact form that routes each message to the right person
- Excel exports of registrants for the team
- Application maintenance since launch: content updates, new pages such as the donation appeal with its pop-up on the home page in 2026, fixes
Results
- 1,332 events published from 2021 to 2025, including 51 proposed by partners
- 6,727 online registrations, and 4,063 reminders sent automatically
- 339 partners listed
- Every request is acknowledged within the hour and often handled in 2 hours, within 48 hours at most
- Online since 2020; a technical upgrade is under consideration for the future
