Hacked WordPress site back online in 2 days, then replaced by a custom booking site that is harder to attack, with online payment. Maintenance since 2023.
The problem
Parismatic Tour organises private guided tours from Paris (Versailles, Giverny, the Louvre, Normandy, the Loire châteaux), for an international clientele. In 2023, its WordPress site was hit by a massive hack: visitors were redirected to other sites, then the site crashed. The SEO agency seo.fr entrusted the intervention to me. Once the site was restored, Parismatic Tour no longer wanted WordPress: the company had lost trust and wanted a tool that was harder to attack.
What I did
- Cleaning of the hacked site and back online in 2 days
- Installation of a secure dedicated server (OVH VPS), which I have administered ever since
- Development of a custom site with Symfony, from a UX/UI designer’s mock-up
- Online booking: choice of tour, availability check, cart and card payment (Stripe and Payplug)
- Invoices generated automatically as PDFs
- Back office to manage tours, prices, the availability and closure calendar, orders and the blog
- Application maintenance since launch
- Later, development of a custom CRM to run the agency’s business
Results
- Bookings and payments automated, with no email exchange for each tour
- Time saved every day for the team
- A site with no CMS to hack, on a controlled server: no new intrusion since
- Project delivered in 2 to 3 months, in 2023
